April 23, 2015 16:23 IST

A look at the top tweets from your favourite Bollywood celebrities:

As political parties continue to play the blame game over the death of farmer Gajendra Singh, several Bollywood celebrities turned to Twitter to express their shock and request government to take strong measures:

Shah Rukh Khan: “Nobody kills themselves 2 end their life, they do so 2 end the pain.” Take a moment, feel the pain not look for gain & stop the blame game!

Hema Malini: My heart goes out to these poor men who take their lives in despair, unable to meet their debts. Read abt the farmer suicide during AAP rally.

Kunal Kohli: Everyone blaming everyone for the farmers suicide. Who’s understanding his pain or doing anything about avoiding another case like this?

Dia Mirza: What is the point of this blame game? Why must we politicise everything? So sad and shameful.

Anupam Kher: Sad that a farmer's suicide will just remain a discussion for everybody in TV studios.

Rishi Kapoor: Shame. I know rallies attract thousands, some perched on trees but you kept at the mike and people applauding when he threatened suicide? Sad! Think. What mindset is this? One commits suicide in front of a crowd and another commits suicide killing the crowd. Wrong ways to be heard!

Sudhir Mishra: The problem's that d urban rich want 2 sacrifice nothing to help d farmer. V r so caught up in lifestyle. To give 2 some u have to give up some. This is bizarre n obscene . V sit in our glass panelled offices eating up resources n subsidies n then tweet abt d poor.
