Once, Twice, Three times a dud
Ashwini Dheer and his gang decided to play the old mistaken-identity game, and placed three diverse characters together in the same hotel and waited for obvious chaos to ensue. Unfortunately, beyond a weak two-para summation of the premise, not much else seems to have been written -- which is why the pained gags set up in the first few scenes by narrator Irrfan Khan continue to play out, again and again, right to the very climax.

Love Songs is a pleasant watch
The pace is slow but the brilliant performances by the lead cast makes up for it. Shahana Chatterjee and Jaya Bachchan deserve special mention. The only exception is Mallika Sarabhai, whose loud performance is unimpressive. The film's music is average, which is a shame since music is an important aspect of the story -- Shahana plays a club singer. Besides, Usha Uthup's powerful voice doesn't match Shahana's fragile frame.

Too many twists spoil this Race
Watch it if you must; it's not objectionably bad. But there really is nothing at all good about this Race either. Heck, even the horses seem sleepy.

Black & White is a relevant watch
This is a film of urgency, make no mistake, and both protagonist and screenplay talk only as much as is required. As for the director himself, he doesn't even make the obligatory cameo. It is the sentiment that plays hero.

Krazzy 4 music is a drag
While the promos featuring a snazzy SRK sure look impressive, the music isn't exactly in the catchy league of Roshan's work in earlier films like Khudgarz, Kishen Kanhaiya, Karan Arjun, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai or Koi...Mil Gaya.

U Me Aur Hum will make you smile
Vishal Bhardwaj comes up with a modest, lovely soundtrack for Ajay Devgan's directorial debut.

Jodhaa Akbar is okay, but overlong
Ashutosh Gowariker's new film has a nice romance, but the history seems to get in the way.

Jodhaa Akbar is a spectacular watch
With an appealing story of two unlikely people falling in love after their politically arranged marriage, the film is filled with several intriguing plots and out-of-the-world songs.

Superstar is an average film
Kunal Khemu is the only highlight of Rohit Jugraj's new film.

Mithya works
Mithya is an unpredictable ride, a rare film that authentically extracts most of its pleasure from all that you don't know just yet.

Race has rocking music
Two rocking numbers, four run-of-the-mill songs and a whole bunch of eclectic remixes is the best Race has to offer.

Rama Rama is one lousy film
Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama gives us a shameful version of marital dilemmas with zilch support from the story department. All we get is some bad marital advice from Rajpal Yadav.

American Gangster , a fun watch
Thematically, it is a very interesting conflict: a gangster villain who works in a scrupulously ethical manner, contrasted opposite a staunchly idealistic cop who just happens to be a womaniser with a failed-marriage behind him.

Rambo -kanth is getting old
Rambo is invincible, sure. The film, however, is not.

Sunday has comedy but no thrills
Contrary to Rohit Shetty's hit comedy, Golmaal which was consistently funny, Sunday entertains as long as it tries to be funny but isn't sly enough to find a mention in the archive of whodunits.

Black & White : A forgettable album
Overall Black & White works forgettably, like the just-mentioned Jagjit Singh song: it makes you seek succour in Karz or Taal.

Jodhaa Akbar's music: A musical conquest
Jodhaa Akbar deserves a round of applause for its faithful adherence to melody, vibrant lyrics and musical detailing.

Truly, a Magical Mystery Tour
This musical traipses through the Beatles songbook and finds blissful innocence.

Nagesh Kukunoor disappoints in Bombay To Bangkok
Shreyas Talpade's new film is boring, with low production values, and an uninteresting view of Thailand.

Chipmunk Power
Alvin And The Chipmunks is a fun addition to the canon of festive season movies Hollywood does so well.

Vaana : Washed away by the rain
Vaana can be watched for the technical aspects. As a love story, it seems to be washed away by the rain!

Anthony is total timepass
Director E Niwas's film has the simplicity and comedy of Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, as well as cool chase scenes we saw in Ram Gopal Varma's Satya.

Santoshi's back with Halla Bol
Raj Kumar Santoshi is back in hard-hitting form with his latest film.

New Treasure , less fun
National Treasure: Book Of Secrets plays out like a repeat ride on an exciting rollercoaster. It is still fun the second time around but with nowhere near the excitement and mystery that accompany a 'first time'.

Cronenberg astonishes with Eastern Promises
Eastern Promises, David Cronenberg's latest film, depending on which way you look at it, is either a horrifyingly cool exposition of the uncaring value system in a modern day mafia family or a devastating thriller with internalised ramifications for all us 'ordinary' people.
