Mammootty'Directing Mammootty is a dream come true.'

Ajai Vasudev talks to Vijay G.

Malayalam superstar Mammootty plays a family man in this week's release Rajadhi Raja, directed by debutant Ajai Vasudev.

Siby K Thomas and Udayakrishna are the scrriptwriters.

Vasudev talks to Vijay G about the film.

What can we expect from Rajadhi Raja?

It’s a wholesome entertainer, which has all the ingredients of a Siby-Udayan script.

Mammootty plays Shekharankutty, who is the manager of a petrol pump at the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. He lives with his wife (played by Lakshmi Rai) and daughter.

He also runs a restaurant and a dormitory.

Things go wrong when his wife’s relative Ayyappan (played by Joju George) comes to visit him.

Director Ajai VasudevHow did you feel directing Mammootty in your maiden venture?

It is indeed a dream come true. I have grown up watching his films.

He cooperated in making things easier for me.

With several high profile films in the pipeline, this year’s Onam releases are very competitive.

True.

There are some fantastic projects lined up for release, along with Rajadhi Raja.

I am confident about my film and hope that it works very well.
