The producer-multiplex stand-off continued, as a meeting held to solve the problem got stalled.

The two parties fell out after multiplex owners remained adamant on their stance of revenue sharing, and refused the 50:50 profit-sharing that producers had demanded earlier.

Multiplex owners refused to comment on the matter and said they will release their statement in a day or two.

The Producers and Distributors Forum has decided to release new films only in single screen theatres after two weeks. The producers will declare the list of new releases and the theatres in which they will be released.

"Our talks have stalled," said Mukesh Bhatt, official spokesperson of the Producers and Distributors Forum. "Multiplexes have come back with the same percentage that they had proposed in January with absolute no change. If that was a feasible percentage, then why would we have stalled releases for so many months and deprived audiences of films? We are looking at an alternative release strategy of releasing films in single screens and independent non-national multiplexes. In two weeks, we will give the list of new releases and the theatres in which they will release to the media."
