No American Idol return for Paula Abdul?
July 20, 2009 17:48 IST

Paula AbdulPaula Abdul may not return for the next season of American Idol as a judge, as she has not been approached for a renewal of her contract.

Meanwhile, Ryan Seacrest's contract has been renewed for massive $ 45 million to host the show.

Abdul is hurt that the producers of the show she has been associated with for the past eight seasons have neglected her.

'She's not a happy camper as a result of what's going on. She's hurt. She's angry,' the New York Daily News quoted her manager David Sonenberg as saying.

David, who started working for her since the end of June, added: 'I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful. I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven't stepped up and said what they want to do.'

Abdul, took to the social networking site Twitter to express her feelings to her fans. 'I'm actually moved two tears upon reading the enormous amount of tweets showing me your kindness, love, & undying support. God bless all of you!' she tweeted.

She posted: 'If it weren''t for you, this specific time and situation would feel a whole lot worse!'

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell, another judge in the show, is reportedly in negotiations for renewal of his contract.

Also Kara DioGuardi, the new judge in the last edition of the show, has expressed her desire to return in the show.
