Britney Spears will release her sixth studio album, Circus, on 2nd December -- the singer's 27th birthday.

Produced by the acclaimed Guy Sigsworth, who has names such as Madonna [Images] and Alanis Morissette to his credit, the album is set to establish the star's comeback, reports the New York Daily News.

Britney [Images] recently gleamed at the MTV Video Music Awards on 7th September when she walked away with three trophies -- 'Video of the Year', 'Best Female Video' and 'Best Pop Video'.

The recovering pop icon's first single titled, Womanizer, is expected to make its debut on 22nd September.
