This November Tirukkuvalai, a village in Tamil Nadu will be witness to a film shoot. The film in question is Kalaignar, a biopic on M Karunanidhi, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Incidentally, the village was chosen as it is the birth place of the CM.

The film will be directed by Shakti G, who had earlier directed the critically acclaimed film Ponmegalai. The film will be produced by M Ganesan and maestro Ilayaraja will score the music.

The director planning to make a comprehensive film on Kalaiganar's half-a-century old political life and his continued association with Tamil films as well.

Only time will tell if he will be able to make the film without raising any controversy.
