Back then, Amitabh Bachchan's [Images] booming voice heralded an exciting hour of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Or, Indian Idol [Images] would showcase some fine talent and lots of interesting drama.

Fast forward to present day, and what have you? A mind-boggling number of reality shows, all vying for your attention. From Rakhi Sawant's [Images] antics to bickerings behind the scenes and sometimes right before your eyes, reality shows are here to stay.

But more doesn't necessarily mean better.
