Son of Raj Babbar and the legendary Smita Patil, Prateik is going to make an appearance in Abbas Tyrewala's directorial debut, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. He plays leading lady Genelia D'Souza's brother, in a tiny role.

If sources are to be believed, Raj Babbar is none too pleased with his son for taking up this film, as he feels that Prateik could have got a better launch had he not been in haste to get in front of the camera.

But Prateik is quick to announce that this is not his formal launch. "I just want to learn how the movie industry works," the 21-year-old actor says, defending his decision.

There are talks that Prateik will be launched by his father in proper Bollywood style after two or three years. Meanwhile, his siblings Juhi and Aryan Babbar are training him in the acting department.
