Sanjay Dutt and his girlfriend Manyata solemnised their marriage as per the Hindu rituals in a simple ceremony at her residence in Versova, in suburban Mumbai.

After the ceremony, a beaming Dutt asked the media, "Are you happy with my marriage?"

On getting an affirmative reply, he thanked the media, and said, "I am very happy too and I thank you for the positive support."

When asked about his daughter Trishala's reaction, Dutt said after a pause, "She is happy."

Meanwhile, Manyata fell short of words to express her emotions. "I am so happy that I don't have any words to express (myself)," she said.

According to industry sources, Sanjay married Manyata in Goa [Images] on February 7 under the Special Marriage Act.

However, the court marriage will have legal validity only after their final signatures on the wedding declaration, the civil marriage registration authorities said.

Dutt and Manyata had submitted the declaration of their marriage to the Civil Registrar's Office on February 7 in South Goa's Salcette taluka.

"They have filed declaration of marriage but the marriage will be legal only after their final signature on the declaration," Chandrakant Pissurlekar, Civil Registrar, Salcette, who accepted the declaration, told PTI.

The authorities stated that the two will have to sign on the declaration before 90 days. The civil registration rules in Goa make it mandatory that one amongst the couple has to be a local resident. In this case, Manyata has submitted a declaration by a former government servant, who has certified that she was staying in his flat at Aquem, a suburban locality of South Goa's Margao city.

According to sources, Dilnawaz will legally change her name to Manyata after the final signature.
