Madonna to adopt Indian baby rediff Entertainment Bureau | April 07, 2008 15:44 IST
Madonna has decided to adopt an Indian child. The 49-year-old pop diva has given up her attempt to adopt a child from Africa, thanks to red tape. Madonna seems to have made up her mind after her recent trip to India, according to The Sun. During their trip, they met Bollywood choreographer, Sandip Soparrkar, who had also adopted a baby. Apparently, Madonna was very pleased with Sandip, as he told her that there were orphans who would melt her heart. Madonna's husband, British director Guy Ritchie, was reportedly against the idea. He thought Madonna was 'mad' to want to go through it all over again, The Sun added. He has always been unsure about adoption as his mother was adopted, and had negative experiences of it. But he finally warmed up to the idea, and decided that adopting a baby from India would be easier. Madonna will choose the baby after she finishes promoting her new album. The couple already have three children, Lourdes (11), Rocco (7), and David (2). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
