A housewife's life is never boring.

Whether it is the desi saas bahu stories or their racier Hollywood counterparts, television shows featuring housewives are fast becoming popular.

And Desperate Housewives, whose second season is going on air this Sunday (September 23) on Star World, is no different. The show about four housewives, a nosey neighbour, and their intriguing double lives has become a rage worldwide.

It also gave a much needed boost to the flagging careers of the 40-something brigade led by Teri Hatcher [Images] (Susan Mayer), Felicity Huffman [Images] (Lynette Scavo), Marcia Cross (Bree Van De Kamp) and Eva Longoria [Images] (Gabrielle Solis). Edie Britt, played by Nicollette Sheridan, has got a new lease of life with the show.

Whether it was the fumbling, accident prone single mom Susan; the stressed out mother of four Lynette; the control freak Bree or the two timing hottie of the show, Gabrielle, the ladies have firmly got their hooks on us, making us eager for more!
