In 1989, a then 27-year-old director broke through with a hyperviolent film -- young, angsty, rebellious. The former video store owner went on to become one of Bollywood's most influential directors of the nineties.
While Ram Gopal Varma went on to give us such genre-defining gems as Satya [Images], Rangeela [Images], Company and Bhoot, every step he took wasn't as impressive.
