'I always give my 200 per cent'

When you were offered the role of Prabhakar by Ram, what was your initial reaction?

I told him, 'I can't do this character. I don't think I have the maturity to do such a heavy role'. He said it would be easy for me to do the earlier days of Prabhakar and that I had to only work on the later part of his life. He said it would take only 15 days for me to be that character. Even then I was not convinced. Though I told him I would call back, I didn't. Finally after a lot of discussions, I agreed to do the film.

What gave you the courage to say yes?

It took me two to three weeks to convince myself. It's not a character where you just go and do it. One needed to understand the character well. I always give my 200 per cent to all my characters, and I don't like to take any role lightly. After having done films like E, I thought it would help me grow as an actor. As I am young, I thought I should take risks in my career.
