Another Padosan remake coming up!

The remake brigade has claimed its latest victim. This time, it's Padosan.

The 1968 hit, which starred Sunil Dutt, Kishore Kumar, Mehmood and Saira Banu, will soon be seen in a new avatar.

The new film will be directed by Neeraj Vora, who gave us the hilarious Phir Hera Pheri.

It is likely to star Ritiesh Deshmukh (playing Sunil Dutt's role), Govinda [Images] (playing Mehmood's role) and Sanjay Dutt [Images] (playing Kishore Kumar's role).

However, there seem to be two problems -- one is the perennial date problem. Apparently, Ritiesh and Sanjay have to finish their commitments to other films. Govinda, on the other hand, has agreed to do the role in principle.

The second problem is finding a heroine to play Saira Banu's role. Vora is now thinking of approaching the yesteryear actress and asking for suggestions!

Incidentally, Padosan has been remade once before to disastrous effects, in a 2003 film called Nayee Padosan.
