Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his birthday in a unique way this year.

Instead of the lavish parties he is known to throw, he invited select media to his home for a more personal cake-cutting celebration.

The superstar, who turns 42 today, seems to be quite upbeat about his new film Om Shanti Om, which is releasing next week.

He seems just as happy about the film's premiere in London [Images] on November 8, and the extended vacation he plans to go on thereafter.
