Agni is back' proclaims the promos of Police Story II. Agni, the 'bad police officer' of Police Story is back and this time around takes on a politician, a terrorist and the police-underworld nexus.

Though it has been 10 years since the original film was released, the sequel has the same narrative crudeness of the original. It appears as if the same technical team, which had worked on the original, is completely unaware of the rapid strides made in the technical aspects of filmmaking.

Not that the original Police Story was a great film. The film was an aberration for a good cinema but it still had a lot of backing from the action film lovers and also because of Sai Kumar's dialogue delivery, which has been repeated so often that it has begun to lose its appeal.

The only change that director Manju has managed in this film is to promote Inspector Agni to a DCP. All the actions, operations and attitude remain the same.

Though the story defies all logic and common sense, the action choreography is worth watching, proving that Manju still has it in him as an action director.

The film stars Telugu artists like Sana, Rami Reddy, Jeeva  and Tamil actor Ponnambalam who shout and scream with gusto.

Camerawork by J G Krishna and music by Sadhu Kokila is run of the mill.

Watch it only if you're a die hard action fan.
