Comedy continues to be the flavour of the season, with or without Akshay Kumar [Images]. Ajay Devgan-Ayesha Takia starrer, Sunday, is no different. Also starring Arshad Warsi [Images], Irrfan Khan [Images] and Anjana Sukhani, Sunday has a fair amount of suspense thrown in as well.

Slated for a January 25 release, Rohit Shetty's third directorial venture after Zameen [Images] and Golmaal boasts of six music directors. And this is what they have to offer:

Mahua Kamath, former member of Channel [V]'s girl band Viva, along with Suraj and Earl Edgar hum and hammer over Missing Sunday, a Sandeep Chowta creation. The slack, monotonous number, despite all its attempts to sound cool, is very unexciting. As for its remixed, off-tune version, the lesser said the better.

One could easily mistake Pyar to hona hi hai to be a Strings composition. Instead another Pakistani band, Suroor does the honours. Talented musicians Kamran Bari and Mohammad Ali produce an uplifting track high on a riveting arrangement, soulful playback and lilting melody. It's remix by Tanay-Gaurav is as captivating.

In complete contrast to the warm beats of Pyar to..., Loot Liya, follows the masala-packed basti song, Loot liya. Trust composer and performer, Daler Mehendi to rub his infectious enthusiasm on the listener. While his Loot liya falls in the Dil mein baji guitar (Apna Sapna Money Money [Images]) category of dhinchak tunes, it is nonetheless catchy and fun while it lasts.

Ayesha Takia and Ajay Devgan in SundayMusic director and singer Shibani Kashyap starts off with reasonable delicacy and oomph in Kashmaksh but loses sizzle somewhere in the middle. It's Robert Miles insired remix by DJ Suketu is fairly groovy but lacks the magic of Kashyap's wild turn in Zinda [Images] hoon main (Zinda).

Up next, Raghav Sachar dishes out the foot-tapping, club-friendly Manzar. Having said that, it lacks that extra something to especially stand out.

The Sunday theme helmed by Amar Mohile is a lacklustre instrumental, a perfect example of all *thud*, no tune.

Considering multiple music directors are behind the soundtrack of Sunday, the album neither has a consistent mood nor sound. Therein lies its unique selling point as well as problem.
