Vijay has become the toast of the Kannada film industry, thanks to Duniya. Though he started his career in nondescript roles, the actor rose in stature only because of Duniya, which introduced him in a leading role.

Even though his second film Yuga turned out to be a damp squib at the box office, Vijay is a busy man. His other film, Chanda, brought him to the limelight, as it is proving to be a moneyspinner in the first few weeks of release.
