Now, Shakira to do an item number!
September 05, 2006 15:07 IST

ShakiraThat our very own Farah Khan [Images] choreographed Shakira [Images] at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards is pretty old news by now.

The Hips don't lie Latin superstar brought the house down at the New York event on Thursday night, and is reportedly very, very impressed by Khan's work.

So taken in by the Indian styling, is the Colombian singer-songwriter that she plans to incorporate Khan's trademark 'Bollywoody' moves in her next music video.

Fox News reported Farah Khan as saying, "Shakira is so impressed with the classical and semi-classical mudras (dance steps) I made her do for the song she performed at the MTV awards that she expressed a desire to work with me."

"She is definitely clued into Bollywood dance and wants me to incorporate it in her next music video, which she wants me to direct for her."

The superstar is known for her uniquely hip-driven dance styling -- a high-energy variant of traditional belly dancing, something she learnt as part of her Lebanese heritage.

Khan plans to take the association with Shakira a step further.

Fox News goes on to say that the choreographer-director is trying to get Shakira to do an item number in her next film, Om Shanti Om, starring Shah Rukh Khan [Images]. Now that's something worth watching out for.

Shakira is currently on her biggest tour ever, The Oral Fixation Tour, and this is expected to last until Summer 2007. Outside her music, her personal life continues to make headlines constantly, as she has been dating Antonio de la Rua (son of Argentinian President Fernando de la Rua) since 2000. They remain engaged despite front-page controversy across Argentina, with no marriage plans announced.

All this and two Grammy awards (plus three Latin Grammies) with a body that really does not look 29. Wow.
