While the nation might currently be engaged in a frantic (and often admittedly one-sided) debate about who makes a better Don, Amitabh Bachchan or Shah Rukh Khan -- it's important to realise that they aren't the only ones in the fray.
While Farhan Akhtar's new film is the only official Don remake, there have been others over the years -- and all featuring the biggest possible megastars. Here's a brief Don Chronology:
Don (1978)
The original Chandra Barot classic kicked off all the chaos 28 years ago, with a tight script way ahead of its time and Amitabh Bachchan at the height of his powers. The film featured a ruthless villain bathed in smoothness, and an innocent lookalike hero.
