Indian flavour to Cannes 2006

Preity ZintaThe Cannes Film Festival this year is seeing quite a bit of the Hindi film industry.

Besides Aishwarya Rai -- a regular at the fest since 2002 -- other stars like Preity Zinta, Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgan and Saif Ali Khan are also present.

Besides this, over 20 Indian showbiz companies will showcase their projects and products at the India Pavilion organised by Confederation of Indian Industry and National Film Development Corporation, with the support of the Government of India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

"This is the biggest ever India participation at Cannes,'' said Bobby Bedi, chairman, CII National Entertainment Committee.

Over 80 companies from India will position themselves at Cannes, taking 65 films and 35 new projects. This year 18 exhibitors from India will showcase their product and projects at the India Pavilion. Buyers and sellers from over 80 countries are here to do business at the Cannes Film Market.
