Gowtham MenonAfter the highly successful Kaakha Kaakha made two years ago, Gowtham Menon hasn't had another release. Now, the shooting of the much talked about Vettayadu Vilayadu is finally over, and the filmmaker has moved on to other projects. Work on his next film, Vilai Uyiredraalum, has already begun.

After getting Kamal Haasan [Images] for his third Tamil film, Menon has managed a coup of sorts with the casting of this one too.

Kamal Haasan launches yet another film!

Sarath Kumar plays the male lead, while the female lead is none other than Padmashree awardee Shobhana, who doesn't accept a film unless it really excites her. The third female actress is his friend Jyothika. "It will be a different kind of a project," said the director, "and I am happy I got the right artistes. I haven't had any release for two years. The Hindi and English remakes of Kaakha Kakha have been abandoned. So, I have decided I should come out with at least three releases this year."

Once the shooting of this film is over, he will revive his old pet project, Chennayil oru mazha kalam (Rainy season in Chennai) with Surya and Asin in the lead. He plans to start shooting from May, for three months. A film with Vikram is also in the offing, but that will happen only in January next year.
