Fardeen Khan got into trouble in the summer of 2001 when he was caught buying cocaine from drug peddler Naseer.

The actor was waiting to buy the narcotic from Naseer in the western Mumbai suburb of Juhu when he was apprehended by the Narcotics Control Bureau. He was produced in court and secured bail five days later. Since then the actor has been fighting a legal battle to prove his innocence.

Earlier this week, Fardeen's lawyer K Tulsi told the Bombay high court that the actor had consumed a wrong substance and had caused harm to himself but not to society at large.
