First Look: Roshan Andrew's Notebook

A still from NotebookRoshan Andrews became a sensation when he signed Mohanlal in the role of a struggling assistant director and Srinivasan as a successful actor in his debut film Udayananu Thaaram, featuring Udayan in the lead. He also persuaded Sreenivasan to write the script. The black comedy is currently being remade. Produced by Anil Kapoor [Images] and titled Shortcut, Andrews himself will direct the film.

If his first film had a superstar, the filmmaker chose to make his second one with unknown faces. The film is about four school friends, and the story takes place in a boarding school in Ooty. The campus chosen to shoot the film is none other than the Lovedale School. He chose teenage girls and boys who had absolutely no acting experience, and then conducted an acting workshop.

This film, Notebook is being readied for release on December 21. "We decided to name the film Notebook because a notebook is the most integral part of school life."

It is to be seen how Notebook will fare against big Christmas releases like Mohanlal's Shaji Kalias film Baba Kalyani and Blessey's third film Palunku, with Mammootty in the lead.
