After the success of Baghban, director Ravi Chopra is back with Baabul. Starring the Baghban cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Salman Khan, the film also features Rani Mukerji and John Abraham.
Chopra talks to Komal Mehta about Baabul, as well his new projects including his mega venture, Mahabharatha. Excerpts:
Tell us about Baabul.
Baabul is a family entertainer. It is about how a father-in-law becomes a father to the bride. It was a subject that I had been working of for a while. As soon as the script was ready, I narrated it to Amit (Bachchan) and he loved it.
Baabul sounds like Prem Rog.
No, it has got nothing to do with Prem Rog.
