Kajol and Ajay DevganThe season of celebrities on the hot seat in Kaun Banega Crorepati 2 has started in right earnest.

After Saif Ali Khan [Images] and Preity Zinta [Images], it's the turn of Kajol [Images] and Ajay Devgan [Images] to say salaam namaste to the audience.

Initially, only Ajay Devgan had consented to sit on the hot seat with host Amitabh Bachchan [Images]. But the Big B [Images], who is extremely fond of Kajol, decided it would be more fun to have both husband and wife facing his questions. It was Amitabh himself who persuaded Kajol to join her husband on KBC-2.

Blog: Talking KBC

"It sure was fun to have Kajol and Ajay over on KBC. Kajol is so bubbly and Ajay is just the opposite. They complemented each other's personalities so well. And they won so handsomely," exclaims Amitabh, who is currently shooting for Karan Johar's [Images] new film, Kabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna.

The couple will be on the show for the Dussehra special.

Bipasha Basu and John Abraham"We also had another couple, John Abraham [Images] and Bipasha Basu, on the hot seat," Bachchan adds. "It was wonderful to chat with them. We spoke about their background, their roots, their cultural antecedents. It was a very revealing and interesting interaction."

Ajay and Kajol won Rs 10 million on the show, and John and Bipasha won Rs 2500,000.

Bipasha says, "We weren't there to prove our intelligence to the world by answering general knowledge questions. We were just happy to be on KBC to make money for a charitable cause. And we're happy that the money has gone to our favourite charitable institutions."

John and Bipasha will be on the show in October.

Meanwhile, speculation on when Lata Mangeshkar [Images] will grace the hot seat continues. "I'd love to be on KBC, if I'm asked. But I wonder if I'd be able to answer any of the questions," says Indian cinema's nightingale.
