As great musicians often do, legendary Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is about to reinvent himself.

According to a report in the Independent, the sixty-plus McCartney is teaming up with a British DJ, Hellraiser, to give dance floor junkies a different kind of ecstasy -- Sir Paul's old songs in new grooves.

The album, says the report, will be called Twin Freaks. Some remixed tracks have been played on BBC Radio 1's The Blue Room show. The album is named after one of Sir Paul's paintings and is to be released on June 21, the report adds.

DJ Hellraiser, whose real name is Roy Kerr, is something of a cult vinyl violator. He takes parts of existing tracks and joins them together to create a new sound.

He created the 2002 track A Stroke of Genius by injecting The Strokes' song Hard to explain with Christina Aguilera's voice from Genie in a bottle.

Twelve of Sir Paul's tracks have been given the console treatment, including Maybe I'm amazed from his 1970 debut solo album.

'There is such an amazing album to be made of some of Paul's unknown tracks ... the young audience would lap up now,' the DJ told the Independent.
