'Aamir would have no qualms about replacing you'

Ashley Rebello | March 18, 2005 15:10 IST

Ashley RebelloAs Aamir Khan turned 40, his friends and co-workers in the industry were eager to provide fresh perspectives on the actor.

Responsible for some of the actor's coolest and most fashionable looks, fashion designer Ashley Rebello grins at the thought.

Here's what Ashley had to say about Aamir:

"He's very friendly. He has no attitude problem and is very down-to-earth.

He does not compromise at work. He expects 100 percent from you, or he'll look elsewhere. He would have no qualms about replacing you if he felt you are not giving the job your best. He's very neat and tidy.

I've seen him work, and he doesn't consider any film less or more important. He's always there, giving his best, whoever the producer or director, and whatever the film.

As an individual, he's slightly reserved. But he makes a fine friend.

Every Christmas, he comes to my house for dinner. It's a ritual that we have had for the last 10 years. He loves a particular type of chicken that my mum makes. Whether it is my sister, her friends, or my friends, he mixes with everyone and is never starry. He is not caught up in his stardom.

As told to Lata Khubchandani
