Hollywood stars Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, expecting their first child together this fall, surprised their fans and friends on Wednesday, when they tied the knot at a resort in the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos.

'They're married and they're expecting their first child,' E!Online quoted a statement from representatives of the newlywed couple, who spent their first night after the wedding at the Parrot Cay resort.

According to the US Weekly, the couple is believed to be leaving for a weekend in Charleston, West Virginia at Garner's family home.

Affleck and Garner first met on the set of their 2003 film, Daredevil, and have been dating since. They went public with their romance after being spotted cuddling at Boston's Fenway Park.

While Garner divorced Scott Foley in March 2004, Affleck's much publicised engagement to Jennifer Lopez ended with the pair calling off their September 2003 nuptials.
