Ash does an item number with the Bachchans

Subhash K Jha | February 01, 2005 13:32 IST

Aishwarya RaiEveryone knows how fond the Bachchan men are of Aishwarya Rai. While Abhishek played the romantic lead with her in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke and Kuch Na Kaho, Amitabh played Ash's sibling (Hum Kissi Se Kam Nahin) or her father (Mohabbatein).

This is about to change. For the first time, the two Bachchans will get together with Ash for a sizzling qawwali number in Shaad Ali's forthcoming Bunty Aur Babli.

The man to manoeuvre this casting coup is the reclusive Aditya Chopra who convinced Ash to do the song.

Ash is no stranger to such numbers. She did the sizzling Ishq kameena with Shah Rukh Khan in Shakti, for which producer Boney Kapoor paid her a whopping sum.

It isn't known how much Yashraj Films has offered Ash. The actress will also play the lead opposite Hrithik Roshan in the sequel of Yashraj Films' other movie, Dhoom.

Says Abhishek, "The song for Bunty Aur Babli, composed by Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, is mindblowing. It's among the best work they have done. I can't wait to get into the groove with Pa and Ash." This will be Abhishek's second item number after One love in Mahesh Manjrekar's Rakht.

Incidentally, Abhishek has been shooting nights for most of January for Bunty Aur Babli. "My clock has gone haywire. But hey, I'm enjoying this film. It's got great energy. And with Pa around, I've to be on my toes constantly."

The film also stars Rani Mukerji.
