Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, who recently underwent a surgery for intestinal problems, was on Saturday discharged from Lilavati Hospital.

The actor left the hospital at 1110 IST in a luxurious four-wheeler -- Range Rover -- followed by a convoy of cars.

His son Abhishek, daughter Shweta, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh and Sahara chief Subrato Roy accompanied the superstar on way home.

Emerging out of the hospital, Bachchan, clad in a white kurta pyjama, waved at his fans and waiting media personnel who had gathered outside the hospital at suburban Bandra since early morning.

Police and the hospital authorities have set up heavy security arrangements inside and outside the hospital.
