Reeve's films to be released soon

October 14, 2004 13:14 IST

Yankee Irving, a computer-animated film being directed by Christopher Reeve before his death, will be released in 2006.

Set during the Depression years in the United States, the film is about a poor boy from Bronx who befriends baseball legend Babe Ruth and hits a game-winning hit for the New York Yankees.

Reeve, a New York Yankees fan, had been directing the film for the past 18 months.

IDT, the production company, installed two large computer screens in Reeve's home in Connecticut so that he could oversee the work in studios in Newark, Canada and Israel.

The Brooke Ellison Story, another film directed by Reeve, based on the true story of a paralysed girl who graduated from Harvard University, will be shown on a US television network shortly.
