Aishwarya RaiThe Invaders isn't The Invaders anymore. Contrary to rumours which believed The Invaders to be a non-starter, the film is very much on. Only now it has a new title. The title of this much-speculated film has been changed to Singularity, mentions a report on mid-day.com

Ajay Jhankar, chairman of Neelmudra Entertainment told mid-day.com, "The Invaders was always a working title. The story remains the same and after the screenplay was ready we decided to change the title. We discovered there were three Hollywood films that had something similar to the word invaders. Singularity means surprise or some kind of magic."

Directed by Roland Joffe, the original story covered the first Anglo-Maratha war in the 18th century. The script, however, has been altered with considerable changes, confirms Aishwarya Rai's manager Simone Sheffield. Rai is one of the finalised actors for this project.

The shooting of Singularity is scheduled to begin in India with Rai from September.

The Mummy star Brendan Fraser will no longer feature in the revamped script. Will the other hero of the film, Vivek Oberoi, who is reportedly seeing Rai, star in Singularity? Cinematographer and associate producer of Singularity, Debu Deodhar prefers not to comment.

Meanwhile Rai and Oberoi play on screen sweethearts in Sameer Karnik's directorial debut Kyun...! Ho Gaya Na.
