Reese's weapon: her baby

rediff Entertainment Bureau | August 24, 2004 12:45 IST

We heard Reese Witherspoon asked for her pregnancy to be woven into the script of Mira Nair's latest film, Vanity Fair.

Now, People magazine says Witherspoon's secret weapon during production was her now 10-month-old baby Deacon. At the film's recent New York premiere, Reese told People, 'It made the emotional scenes really easy. I was very hormonal, so that was good.'

The movie, based on William Makepeace Thackeray's novel of the same name, releases September 1.

After 10 years, the Legally Blonde star has changed the colour of her hair to brunette. The look is for her role as June Carter in Walk The Line, the biopic on the late country music legend Johnny Cash's life. Reese, who is married to actor Ryan Philippe, says, of her look, 'It's nice for a change. I haven't changed my hair colour in 10 years, so it's fun.'
