What is Anand Raaj Anand up to?

Ek Se Badkar Ek has been in the making for a long time. Earlier titled Kasam Se, the comedy is directed by Kundan Shah, the director who has the irrepressible Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron to his credit.

Ek Se Badkar Ek stars Suniel Shetty, Shekhar Suman, Raveena Tandon and Ishaa Koppikar.

If the composer is Anand Raaj Anand, there has to be a Punjabi number. So we have the jarring Meri aankh nashili by Jaspinder Narula and a male singer whose name is not mentioned in the credits.

Aankhon hi aankhon mein appears twice in the album, but has nothing going for it. To add to that, it looks like the music company has made a printing error. The female voice in one of them is credited to Sunidhi Chauhan, but it sounds more like Anuradha Sriram. Not that it matters, except of course to Sriram who might be upset at not getting due credit. She does get credit, however, for the second version that she sings with Anand Raaj Anand.

Phir se and Pardesi dhola are the best tracks in the album. But neither composed is Anand Raaj Anand. Phir se is taken from singer Abbey's Fidaa (not to be confused with Ken Ghosh's film starring Kareena Kapoor, Fardeen Khan and Shahid Kapoor) while Pardesi dhola is by the popular bhangra singer Jasbir Jassi. Remember Dil le gayi?

Don don is a situational track sung by Sadhna Sargam and Abhijeet. The other two tracks are Dheere se jaana by Babul Supriyo and Alka Yagnik and Tujhe dekha jab se by Sonu Nigam, Abhijeet and Shweta Pandit.

Going by the music, Ek Se Badkar Ek has nothing to offer. Lets hope the film does not follow the same route.
