Keira to play bounty hunter

August 03, 2004 12:43 IST

Keira KnightleyUnlike Parminder Nagra, her Bend It Like Beckham co-star Keira Knightley is certainly going places.

Parminder has played an Indian doctor on the television drama ER and done a couple of films. That's about it, sadly.

In contrast, the 19-year-old Keira -- with a body and face to die for -- has done Pirates of the Caribbean and Love Actually (both released last year), and Arthur, which released in the US last month.

She has been signed up for Pride and Prejudice, not to be mistaken with Bend It director Gurinder Chadha's Bride and Prejudice, and The Jacket, co-starring Adrien Brody.

British director Tony Scott (Top Gun, Enemy of the State, Spy Game) has now signed Keira to star in Domino.

The film is based on the life of Domino Harvey, Hollywood actor Laurence Harvey (he acted in the original The Manchurian Candidate)'s daughter who gave up a modeling career to become a bounty hunter.

For those who don't know -- a bounty hunter hunts down dangerous criminals in the US for a fee.

Keira has already shown her passion for action in Arthur.

Domino should give her more scope to become an action heroine ala Cameron Diaz and move a few notches higher up the ladder of stardom.
