Rahul Bose, a known face on the parallel Indian cinema circuit, made his mark as an actor in Dev Benegal's English August (1994) and Split Wide Open (1999), Kaizad Gustad's Bombay Boys (1996) and Aparna Sen's Mr And Mrs Iyer. His directorial debut, Everybody Says I'm Fine, made waves abroad and even won at the recent Palm Springs Festival.

Bose's stint with commercial cinema, Govind Nihalani's Thakshak (1999), did not fare well. Jhankaar Beats will be his second commercial film.

Rinke Khanna has had no hit to her credit yet. The Leo, who got married to London-based investment banker Samir Saran on February 8, 2003, came closest to success in the popular song Prem Che, picturised on her, from Mahesh Manjrekar's Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai.

She teams up with Manjrekar again in his forthcoming film, Pran Jaaye Par Shaan Na Jaaye, in a well-etched role.
