Her incredible beauty, unquestioned success and tendency to create headlines make Aishwarya Rai a classic celebrity.

She turned producer this year in collaboration with brother Aditya and friend Shabbir Boxwalla for Dil Ka Rishta. Despite ample candy eye and aggressive promotional campaigns, the audiences gave the film a unanimous thumb down.

The sorrow of a loser production was washed away when Ash won the Best Actress trophy for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, at every possible award function in town. More good news followed with a film offer from Gurinder Chadha coming her way. Also, Ash was selected to be on the jury team for the highly prestigious Cannes Film festival.

Unfortunately, the actress had an accident on the sets of Rajkumar Santoshi's Khakee, which resulted in an ankle fracture and abrasions. While in hospital, Ash issued a statement in press to prevent any further mud slinging against her name from former boyfriend Salman Khan.

Her stint at Cannes was no less memorable with its shares of ups and downs.

In a nutshell, Aishwarya Rai leads an extraordinary existence.

Rediff.com traces the last few months in her life to tell you why.
