Care for a computer girlfriend?

August 26, 2003 19:32 IST

Tata Elxsi's Visual Computing Labs has joined hands with popular Tamil director Shankar to picturise a complete song sequence with a computer generated girl for his forthcoming feature film, Boys. The song will also include live dancers.

Shankar has come up with 'path-breaking' concepts for every song in Boys, which is scheduled to release on August 29. In the Girlfriend song, a computer-generated girl has been used to depict the boys' image of their respective girlfriends in different settings.

'After extensive research on ideal look for the character, the 3-D modellers at VCL succeeded in creating a computer graphics girl model,' said a Tata Elxsi release.

The process included photo-realistic modelling (face, hair, body) of the computer-generated girl, skin texturing, costumes, animation and seamlessly integrating the computer graphics with the live footage, it added.
