Style is something Preity Zinta wears with casual ease.

On-screen, she wears clothes that complement her young, bubbly and vibrant personality. Heavy makeup, excessive hairdos and ornate costumes are no-nos are far as Preity is concerned. You are more likely to see her in casual tee shirts, floral dresses, dungarees and short skirts.

Though the actress has a particular fondness for short clothes -- as seen in most of her films from her debut Dil Se.. to her latest Koi... Mil Gaya -- the label that sticks to her is cute, not sexy.

She dabbled with ethnic style in Mission Kashmir, where her salwar kameezes, though simple, were stylish and elegant. Later, she went for the traditional Kashmiri look in The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy, in which she played the Kashmiri village girl, Reshma.

In Dil Chahta Hai, Arjun Bhasin's simple but stylish dresses and a wet, permed hairstyle made for a subdued, classy and very feminine Shalini, Preity's character in the film.

Of course, there have been times when Preity has not always strictly been 'in character' -- her unreal wig in Armaan got more attention then her performance. Ditto for her slinky, backless dresses in Koi... Mil Gaya.
