Raghu Romeo at Locarno

August 04, 2003 19:02 IST

Raghu Romeo, a film directed by Rajat Kapoor, has been selected for the prestigious Piazza Grande Screening, in the non-competition section at Locarno International Film Festival 2003.

Co-produced by the National Film Development Corporation, Raghu Romeo will be screened at the festival between August 6-16. It stars Vijay Raaz, Saurabh Shukla and Sadiya Siddiqui.

Raghu Romeo is about Raghu, a waiter at a nightclub with a suspicious clientele. One night, Raghu -- in an effort to brighten his humdrum existence -- embarks on a relationship with Neeta.

The film captures Raghu's fantasy versus reality and the intricacies involved in the relationship.

Rituparno Ghosh's Chokher Bali, starring Aishwarya Rai, will also be screened at the festival in the competition section. Prominent actor and playwright Girish Karnad will be part of the Locarno jury.
