It was recently reported that the company will see its stock price reach $1,001 within 12 months, lifted by growth in China and the debut of a new television product, according to Topeka Capital Markets. It has also been in the news for its iPad 3 and the soon-to-be-launched iPhone 5.

IBM has launched an ongoing campaign to solve real-world problems, from traffic congestion to water management.

Further as reported in Daily Mail, in 2016, researchers at IBM will begin their work on what will essentially be known to the world as the ultimate computer! And, they will be using it for a reason almost matching up to its ultimate status - going back in time to trace the origin of the Universe, which happened roughly 13 billion years ago.

Google has been consistently growing over the years. It made several acquisitions, including spending $12.5 billion for Motorola Mobility and $125 million for Zagat. Even, services like Gmail, YouTube, and Google Reader saw significant updates.

Further to make its interface customer friendly, it has announced that it will no longer ignore certain punctuation marks- a significant improvement in the way Google was known to handle punctuation marks within search queries.

Amazon levels much of its capital at expansion efforts. For instance, it plans to open 17 new fulfillment centers.

It is also ready to take on the market leader Apply in the tablet PC market, according to online research specialist DigitalMR. The latest findings from a social media monitoring show customer comments for tablet PCs are largely positive.

Apple has highest share of overall comments (33 per cent) and of positive comments (32 per cent) but Amazon is pushing it hard with 31 per cent share of overall comments and 30 per cent share of positive ones.

The world's largest maker of security software recovered from a drop in sales in 2010. According to the results of its third quarter of fiscal year 2012, ended Dec 30, 2011, its GAAP revenue for the fiscal third quarter was $1.715 billion, up 7 per cent year-over-year and up 6 percent after adjusting for currency.

"Through consistent execution of our strategy, we met or exceeded revenue and earnings for the sixth consecutive quarter," said Enrique Salem, president and chief executive officer, Symantec.

"With unprecedented information growth and the increasingly toxic threat landscape, customers understand the value of our portfolio and we continue to see good demand for our products and services across all geographies."

Now, it is focusing on the PayPal services which is driving much of its growth. PayPal is one of the fastest-growing businesses for eBay in terms of revenue and now accounts for around 27 per cent of its overall value.

PayPal's total payment volume has been growing rapidly in the past couple of quarters, with a 28 per cent year-on-year increase observed during the last quarter. eBay acquired PayPal in 2002.
