Apple Inc has released an application that helps users locate and lock missing devices.

The application called iOS 4.2 compatible in iPad, the iPhone and iPad Touch offers more than 100 new features.

The upgraded software can be downloaded for free from online entertainment store iTunes.

It helps people locate their iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches on a map and play a sound when lost.

Users can remotely lock or wipe all the data from lost devices.

Once you set it up, you can find the lost device on a map, display a message on its screen, remotely set a passcode lock, and initiate a remote wipe to delete your data.

And if you eventually find your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can restore everything from your last backup.

The user can access the service with a username and password that is recorded in the iTunes program.

Once inside, the customer can see on a map the approximate location of the device.

This must be done from a computer with Internet connection. Once Apple's team find it, the user can erase all its contents remotely.

The user can display a message on the screen or simply use a password to lock everything until he gets it back.
