Former singer and wife of football star David Beckham, Victoria was appointed Creative Design Executive in July 2010 and she has worked with the Land Rover design team over the past 18 months to create her special edition, it added.

"Working with Victoria the intention was not to change the fundamental architecture and award winning design of the Range Rover Evoque. We wanted to create a special edit ion that extends its character in a new direction through understated, restrained colour and detail changes," Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern said.

Land Rover and Victoria Beckham's credibility and global appeal will help the auto maker to consolidate its position in growing markets like China, Russia and Brazil, he added.

Commenting on the association, Beckham said: "I want everyone who gets into this car to feel special and empowered by its quality and craftsmanship."

The special edition model is powered by a 2.0 litre petrol engine and will be hand-finished by Land Rover's Engineering to Order division (ETO) in Warwickshire.

Meanwhile, the company unveiled the XJ Ultimate, which will be available with a new 3.0 litre petrol engine.

"The XJ Ultimate can also be specified with Jaguar's existing 5.0 litre V8 supercharged petrol engine and its 3.0 litre V6 turbocharged diesel. All powertrains drive through eight-speed transmissions," the company said.

JLR said the XJ Ultimate will be available in India in late-2012 and pricing and powertrains will be announced at a later stage.
