The Skoda Superb Ambition has finally reached the Indian markets.

Though the soft launch took place April 16, the official ceremony announcing the launch happened on Wednesday.

The Superb Ambition is a cut price version from the house of Skoda. It offers luxury saloon car features at a competitively low price.

The petrol version which is powered by a 1.8 litre TSI engine is priced at Rs 17.66 lakh, whereas the 2.0 litre TDI diesel version is priced at Rs 22.07 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Mumbai).

The features that would be missing in this car would be the Bi-xenon cornering headlamps, touch-screen central console with 6-CD changer unit, front parking sensors, electric sunroof and hill hold and hill descent system.

Ambition variant is launched in petrol as well as diesel variant.

The petrol trim is driven by a turbocharged 1.8 litre TSI engine capable of sitting out 160 bhp of max power at 4500-6200 rpm while the diesel motor is a common rail 2 litre unit with turbocharger having self-aligning blades.

This mighty motor churns out 140 bhp of power at 4200 rpm and 320 Nm of torque at 1750-2500 rpm.

The patrol motor is coupled to manual 6-speed fully synchronised transmission which delivers a mileage of 13.1 kmpl, as per Skoda.
