5 Indian women among the world's most powerful

Forbes has come out with its latest list of 100 most powerful women in the world topped by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. 

Five Indian business women are also featured in this list.

Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi

Chairman and CEO, PepsiCo

PepsiCo's 58-year-old Indian-origin CEO Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi joined PepsiCo in 1994 and was named president and CFO in 2001. Nooyi has directed the company's global strategy for more than ten years.

Her focus on "mobile banking" in rural areas to reach more clients has been praised as a model for low-cost expansion in a country with a burgeoning middle class.
