Zydus Cadila to sell Sertraline in France

Zydus Cadila Healthcare Ltd on Tuesday said it has received approval from the French regulatory agency, AFSSAPS, to market Sertraline capsules 25 mg and 50 mg, in the French market.

Sertraline is an anti-depressant and falls in the central nervous system segment of drugs. This is the first approval for a dossier developed by the group in India and submitted in France, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The annual sales of Sertraline in 2004-05 were estimated at 70 mn Euro, it said.

The group's subsidiary, Zydus France SAS has launched a total of 74 generic presentations since its foray in the French generics market in September last year.

These include - Simvastatin in the cardiovascular segment and Omeprazole in the gastrointestinal segment, it added.
