Zee Network, India's leading media and entertainment group, will invest $50 million for setting up its headquarters in the Middle East, company chairman Subhash Chandra said.

The group's Middle East headquarters 'Zee Towers' was in line with its investment commitment to the region, Chandra said at a function in Dubai to celebrate the launch of the company's multi-lingual music and lifestyle channel 'Zee Arabiya'.

"We plan to invest $50 million in this project (Zee Towers) which will house our regional offices as well as studio operations," he was quoted as saying by the media.

"Zee Towers will have over 1,00,000 square feet of leasable space across five floors with a wide range of top quality amenities such as a modern Arabian courtyard, huge multimedia screen walls, state-of-the-art boutique offices, underground parking spaces, and top restaurants and cafes, thus making it the ideal location for businesses," he said.

Chandra said the headquarters will also house production, post-production and broadcast management infrastructure.

The tower has already reportedly started leasing a few floors to companies. Observing that Middle East was one of the fastest growing economies in the world, Chandra said, "We are highly committed to this market and the launch of Zee Arabiya is just the beginning of our efforts to provide quality entertainment to this region."

The new channel is currently being up-linked from Samacom in Dubai and is free-to-air.
