September 14, 2006 20:59 IST
Tamil Nadu on Thursday decided to allocate ten acres of land to Wipro and five acres to Tata Consultancy Services in Coimbatore.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister M Karunandihi in Chennai.

The cabinet also decided to exempt registration fee and stamp duty for 1061 acres of land in Nagapattinam to be distributed among agricultural labourers by an NGO, which would buy the land from private parties for distribution.

Exemption from registration fee and stamp duty would be given to houses allocated for the soldiers who died in the Kargil war as well.
